Peter Acker, LL.M, Esq.

Peter is the founding and managing partner of P.H. Acker & Associates. His areas of expertise include all aspects of Immigration law as well as International law. He is currently an active member of the both the Immigration Law Section of the Georgia Bar and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) where he comments on proposed and pending state immigration legislation in Georgia.

Peter received his Bachelors degree from Emory University and his J.D. from John Marshall Law School in Atlanta. During law school Peter was a member of the John Marshall's national moot court team and competed in two separate national competitions. He also received the Aspen award for highest honor in criminal procedure.

In addition to his J.D., he also holds a special masters degree (LLM) in international law from Emory University.

Peter has received a Letter of Recognition from the United States Marine Corps for his research and advice assisting the Marine Corps appointed defense counsel for a notorious Guantanamo Bay detainee. He has also prepared presentations in international law at Ludwig-Maximillian's University in Munich, Germany (on the international effects of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act) and for AmCham Germany in Frankfurt, Germany (on the concept of Dual Nationality from the perspectives of both Germany and the United States).

Peter has lived in both the United States and in Europe (Germany and Hungary) and is fluent in both German and Spanish (in addition to English). He also speaks some Portuguese and some Farsi.
